For The Child Within

This page is dedicated to the the child within each of us.

"ASK ME"

I see her as a little girl,
Hiding in her room
She takes another bath,
and she sprays her mamas perfume.
She tries to wipe away the scent he left behind
but it haunts her mind.

Ya see shes his little rag,
nothing more than just a waif
and hes mopping up his needs
She is tired and afraid.
Maybe she will find away, through these awful years.
To dissappear.

Ask me if I think theres a God up in the heavens,
Where did he go in the middle of her shame?
Ask me if I think theres a God up in the heavens,
I see no mercy and no one down here's,naming names.
Nobodies naming names.

Now she's looking in a mirror
at a lovely womens face.
No more frighten little girl,
Like shes gone without a trace.
Still she leaves a light burning in the hall.
It's hard to sleep at all.
Till she crawls up in her bed
Acting quite as a mouse.
Deep inside she's listening for the creaking in the house.
But no ones left to harm her,
Shes finally safe and sound
There's a peace she has found.

Ask her if she thinks there's a God up in the heavens,
Where did he go in the middle of her shame?
Ask her how she knows there's a God up in the heavens.
She says his mercy is bring her life again.
Ask me how I know there's a God up in the heavens.
Where did he go in the middle of her shame?
Ask me how I know theres a God up in the heavens.
She says his mercy is bringing her life again.
She's coming to life again.

He's in the middle of her pain.
Hes in the middle of her shame.
Mercy brings life.
He's in the middle.
Mercy in the middle!

Ask me how I know
Ask me how I know there's a God up in the heavens

ASK ME!

GOD BLESS THE CHILD
{A Song For One Another}

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
God Bless the child that suffers
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
God Bless the young with out mothers.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
Let every man help his brother.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Let us all love one another.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
Make all hearts blind to color.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
God Bless the child, who suffers.

Song by Shania Twain

Until You Can Forgive
written by Chuck Brodsky

So suddenly you're trembling, with a flash flood of tears
And a flashback to a night so black a little girl disappears
The pictures are returning and it's safe to say you see her
You can go now if you have to if that's what it takes to free her

It's a tattered old illusion, and faded is the glory
Hung up on your father's flagpole as you return to the yard
Where he touched you as a child, only now you see it clearly
And you hate the man who once upon a time you loved so dearly

Until you can forgive - but not what's been done
Until you can forgive - the innocent one
The little girl...afraid to speak
Shadows in the hallway, tears rolling down her cheek

It comes to you in nightmares and in the middle of sweet dreams
It robs you of your innocence and it makes you feel unclean
You can damn him if you want to, you can wish upon him death
You can trample on his grave if he is already dead

With the anger in your veins you have broken through the chains
Holding you accountable for whatever was
You were much too young to know right from wrong and how to say no
But you can say it now, go on, say it if you must

Until you can forgive - but not what's been done
Until you can forgive - the innocent one
The little girl...afraid to speak
Shadows in the hallway, tears rolling down her cheek

Now you back away from danger, is it too close or too real
When you lay down with your lover and this trust you don't yet feel?
I will still be here in the morning, I will hold you through the night
But I will not whisper in your ear that everything's gonna be all right

Until you can forgive - but not what's been done
Until you can forgive - the innocent one
The little girl...afraid to speak
Shadows in the hallway, tears rolling down her cheek

This song was sent to me to add to my page by a very dear and caring friend.
These words were hard to read at first, because they hit to close to home.
But words we need to hear.
Thank you Jim.
